Nose: Fruity and rich. There are lovely notes of spiced honey and mixed peels, a little malmsey, hazelnut and a touch of cut fruit with toasty oak providing a backbone. 
 
Palate: Rich and full. There are notes of rye and spice, barley malt, a little nut oil with butterscotch and vanilla. 
 
Finish: Quite sweet with butterscotch and dry oak spice.

Taste: More butterscotch, cream and wheat notes. Decent mouthfeel for the proof.

Taste: The nutty note from the nose is more clearly peanut with more oak and caramel and some rye spice notes. Good mouthfeel which is expected at this proof. 
 
Finish: Medium to long finish with rye spice, oak and a bit of caramel.

Weller Special Reserve

Nose: Primarily caramel with a bit of something I can’t place. I think it’s a bit earthy? 
 
Taste: A little more watery than I thought it was going to be especially given the slightly higher proof. The caramel is still there but less present than it was in the nose. The something earthy from the nose starts to come through as wood notes 
 
Finish: The wood notes crescendo here and there is just a touch of spice on the finish

Nose: A little hot despite the middling proof though with otherwise nicely balanced brown sugar, vanilla and leather notes 
 
Taste: A little thin with more leather and a sweet note that isn’t quite as distinctly brown sugar than the nose 
 
Finish: Finally a bit of spice! A more caramel sweetness here on the end with a nice, long linger

Taste: Rich caramel and present but not overwhelming baking spice. Good mouthfeel for the proof.

Finish: A long lovely linger that starts sweet and fades to a spicy tingle reminiscent of holiday spice with hints of something fruity.

Nose: Dried fruit, rich oak and a strong vanilla note. 
 
Taste: Simple but enjoyable with caramel, fruit and warm spice notes. Pleasant but unremarkable mouthfeel. 
 
Finish: Medium length finish with fading dried fruit and lingering oak, spice and vanilla notes..

Michter's Small Batch

Nose: Inviting with almost no burn with strong caramel and nutty notes with some oak and vanilla notes underneath. 
 
Taste: The nutty and caramel notes come in strong with vanilla extract ramping up as it goes and faint spice toward the end. Very much not ‘over oaked’ especially for the age. Surprisingly good mouthfeel as well. 
 
Finish: Long and soft with a bit of oak and vanilla that quickly fades to caramel with a touch of spice..

Nose: Sweet honey, vanilla and warm spice notes. 
 
Taste: Sweet honey again but with more spice than the nose, less vanilla and some citrus notes. Very easy to drink but with a decent mouthfeel for the proof. 
 
Finish: Medium length and slightly dry with lingering spice and a little vanilla.

Finish: Good length with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee.

Nose: Not as 'in your face' as rye can be, but the mild spice is there, alongside some sweetness and fruitiness, especially apples. 
 
Palate: Vanilla, then that rye spice, summer fruits with some darker spices developing. 
 
Finish: More prominent rye on the finish.

Nose: Dried fruits and soft spices. Cocoa and butterscotch, alongside orange peel, cinnamon and caramel. 
 
Palate: Thick, fruity palate with chocolate oranges, cassia bark, nutmeg and oak. 
 
Finish: Tangy fruit and quite coppery. Marmalade and spice.

Nose: Big heaps of cherries and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco. 
 
Palate: Rather hot at first, the spices coming to the forefront. This is followed by peaches, more cherries and a little bit of orange zest. 
 
Finish: A smoky finish, carried by cinnamon, allspice and a hint of sweeties.

Nose: Sweet with spices and stem ginger in syrup. Orange zest, freshly ground black pepper and mixed peels. 
 
Palate: Thick, spicy palate with notes of Seville orange marmalade and allspice. Peanut butter, toffee and barrel char develop later on. 
 
Finish: An oily, spicy finish.

Nose: Some dusty spice, a touch of Norwegian hand cream and cocoa at first with sweet liquorice, Curaçao, vanilla custard and crème caramel developing. 
 
Palate: Fruity, then wonderfully spicy rye. Sweet liquorice again (specifically the coconutty/nougat-y pink Liquorice Allsorts that have a black bit in the middle), plenty of oak and then clove drops on the tail. 
 
Finish: Vanilla with cinnamon and apricot Danish.

Nose: Vanilla custard, cinnamon and cherry jam, with toasted walnut and new leather.

Finish: Warming rye spice really comes into its own on a lengthy finish.

Finish: A long sweet linger with a bit of something floral or herbal as well.

Nose: Butterscotch with ripe pears and apples. A bit of white pepper spice and oak. 

Taste: Caramel corn, apples and white pepper with a hint of oak wood. Tasted with a cranberry and there was less pepper and more caramel and apples. 

Finish: Medium long with oak and pepper spice.

Stolen

Nose: like smores done over a hardwood, car-camping style campfire. 

Palate: is a honey and green apple sweet, seasoned with eucalyptus and mint, and just a tinge of smoke. 
 
Finish: where the smoke comes in. As the herbal spiciness fades, one is left with a thick, creamy coat on the tongue and a light, but decidedly ashy note that just sits there as the warmth winds down.

Nose: Heavy corn presence, leather, vanilla, oak grain influence amidst galangal, trace of mint, and char developing.

Nose: The whiskey has a muted nose with light notes of apple cider juice and just a touch of alcohol.

Finish: The finish is short and has notes of apple and oak and then it's done.

Nose: honey and grassy notes, as well as some cereal, smokiness, caramel and citrussy notes 
 
Palate: honey is ever-present on the palate, continuing into malty and vanilla notes with smokey overtones. There's some coffee and caramel in there as well. 
 
Finish: finish is sweet and malty, the honey returns with another hint of nuttiness.

Nose: An elegant, stylish nose of marmalade, Crema Catalana (apologies, but it really is there), cocoa and malt. Plenty of vanilla and a sprinkling of winter spice (nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon) alongside a mouth-watering hint of aniseed. 
 
Palate: Very malty, creamy delivery with a suggestion of berry fruit. Juicy toasted barley, cloves and butterscotch. Manuka honey, hot-buttered-toast and dried apricot develop. 
 
Finish: Medium length, spicy oak and a hint of peppermint on the tail.

Nose: Apricot, pineapple, greengages, citrus blossom and toasted teacake. 
 
Palate: Buttery and vanilla-rich, though still packing all the bright fruit notes from the nose.

Nose: Fresh, clean and very aromatic. Floral notes abound the senses with a light grassiness. Notes of creamy Manuka honey and a touch of juicy citrus with cream and a well-balanced sweetness. 
 
Palate: Rather full with a pleasant depth. Lurking somewhere in the substratum a grilled orange lies. Notes of granary toast and green tea with jasmine. A touch of sweetness. 
 
Finish: Quite long with peppery spice and wood shavings.

Nose: This opens on big, smoky muscular peat notes. There are spices, and liquorice, as well as a big dose of salt. 
 
Palate: Seaweed-led, with a hint of vanilla ice cream The oak is big, and muscles its way into the fore as you hold this whisky over your tongue. An upsurge of spices develop – cardamom/black pepper/chilli. 
 
Finish: Big and drying, as the savoury, tarry notes build up with an iodine complexity.

Nose: Smoke and salt with some sweeter vanilla notes lurking in the background, it’s reminiscent of enjoying a sweet cigar near by the sea 
 
Taste: Lightly sweet notes, almost like peach nectar, transition into bigger peaty smoke and oak with hints of salt. 
 
Finish: Long lingering smoke and a bit of the salt from the nose return in the delightful finish with some acidic notes with made the whole thing remind me of a smoked sausage.

Nose: Soft orchard fruits and thyme honey are joined by a helping of peppermint in the backdrop. 
 
Palate: More green apple on the palate leads along bright citrus notes from pink grapefruit. Bitter herbs, toasted almonds and vanilla oak linger underneath. 
 
Finish: White pepper and ginger add spice to the finish.

Nose: Soft and sweet with floral honey, sweet pear and vanilla notes. 
 
Taste: Floral honey and pear notes with just a bit of caramel and baking spice. Excellent mouthfeel that I have come to associate with most 100-110 proof whiskies 
 
Finish: Short, warm and sweet with caramel and baking spice notes, almost like a bourbon
